FAQ

Here are some common questions about home charging points.

What if my installation is non-standard?

If your installation, due to the nature of your property, is classed as non-standard, this may incur additional costs due to extra work and materials required. Once your order is placed, we will contact you beforehand in order to evaluate the installation and will provide you with full details of additional costs before any work commences.

Can't I just connect my charger to a plug socket?

Short answer - no. Due to power and safety requirements, the charger MUST be connected directly to either a meter of consumer unit (fuse box) in order to work efficiently and ensure that it is properly protected.

How do I claim the OLEV grant?

It couldn't be easier. If you want to apply, JJS will ask you to supply some basic details and proofs and we will then process the application on your behalf as Government authorised installers. We will keep you updated of any progress made with the claim.

What if I have two electric vehicles?

The OLEV grant can be applied for a maximum of twice per household. In order to claim a second grant, you must have a second eligible vehicle registered at the same address and meet the same criteria as for the first grant.
